Since 1900 Strand Lighting has long been a leader in dimming technology. Proven CD80 dimmers are available in 1, 6, and 12 dimmer portable and installation packs and in 48 and 96 dimmer touring and installation racks. Recently introduced is the new Century C-21 Rack. This rack will quickly become the new standard in dimming, building upon CD80 reliability, C-21 uses proven dimming technology with a number of advancements including web browser based rack configuration, increased support for external control, ACN ready processors and the availability of quad 20 amp dimmers and dual 20amp TrueSine™ dimmers. C21 is the only dimmer rack allowing for interchangeable dual Sinewave and SCR dimmers within a standard 96 way rack.

CD80 Single Dimmer

Rugged and dependable CD80 dimmers porvide "on location" dimming to meet a wide range of needs. Units are stackable, fan cooled with integral circuit breaker single dimmers available in 2.4kW, 12kW and 24kW models. UL and CUL listed

CD80 Portable Packs

Strand lighting combines their proven CD80 dimming with a road rugged pack designed to run on single or three phase feeds. The pack is also rated for permanent installation and is available with terminal strip outputs for hard wiring. CD80 dimmer packs accept DMX, AMX, and analog control signals. UL listed.

C-21 The New Century Dimmer

C21 offers new standards of performance, ruggedness and ease of use. The New Century Dimmer is based upon Strand Lightings proven CD80 design with over 2 million dimmers installed around the world. This new rack provides the most sophisticated flexible dimming system available allowing a mix and match of single, dual, quad and TrueWine dimmers. All dual 20 amp SCR, contactor modules and sinewave dimmers are interchangeable.

Rack setup and optional status reporting can be accesed through any standard PC web browser. Racks come Shownet compatable and ACN ready.

In addition Strand Lightings powerful Outlook and System Wide Control Architectural networks are fully supported at no additional cost.

If you already own an existing Strand Lighting CD80 installation rack, you can now upgrade your rack with a C21 retrofit kit. The upgrade includes a new fan set, a one year warranty on the existing rack and access to all of the new networking and control features of C21 New Century Dimming. Why spend money on replacing dimmers when its only the control that needs upgrading?

A21 Dimming System

A21 dimming systems are designed to be flexible and can be tailored to the varying needs of architectural or entertainment applications. Their modular design allows systems to be configured easily to meet the needs of a wide range of projects. Please see our section on Architectural Controls for more system design options

A21 Dimmer Cabinets:
Each cabinet is a pre-wired enclosure that contains the power modules, a control processor module, internal wiring and load, supply and control terminations. Three cabinet sizes are available for 3, 6 or 9 power modules. A main breaker option is available for 6 and 9 module cabinets. Systems may be ordered for 120 or 277 volt applications.

A21 Power Modules:
Dual and quad power modules are available in a variety of ratings for incandescent/inductive (low voltage, neon and cold cathode), fluorescent and non-dim loads. Fluorescent modules are available for two and three wire ballasts to meet the needs of a wide range of projects.

A21 features standard SCR and quiet IGBT dimmer modules that are simple to install and configure. Local controls and bypass are supplied with all dimmer modules for set up and testing during installation. Power modules can be combined within a cabinet to match differing load sizes and types.
