The 2022-23 Theatrical Skills Workshop Season is currently postponed. If you have any questions or if you'd be interested in hosting a workshop, please call (312) 332-5611.

Started in 2008, the Theatrical Skills Workshops presented by Grand Stage are intended to educate the participants through exposure to new and changing equipment, to introduce and reinforce best practices and to promote industry networking and camaraderie.

Workshops feature hands-on exercises, ongoing Q&A sessions, educational resources and health and safety advice. All participants are welcome, including students, educators, theatre staff and stagehands. Our workshops are instructed by experienced presenters who are eager to educate the next generation of theatre professionals. Certificates of completion are available for all participants after each workshop.

With the exception of Introduction to Theatrical Makeup and Advanced Theatrical Makeup, all of our workshops are being held at the Grand Stage offices, located at 3418 N Knox Avenue in Chicago, IL.

Participant safety is our highest priority. Workshops will have a limited capacity to allow for proper social distancing, and masks will be required for all in-person events.

Cost

Our mission is to provide workshops that are affordable and valuable to the theatre community. The cost of each workshop is listed within the workshop description.

We believe education should be available to all. If you are interested in group discounts or scholarships, please contact us.
